Summer has come...

Well, Camping was so much fun! Natalie already beat me to making a blog about it. So I'll just do a short one. We had such a great time...

Spending time together...

Ken having his new gun attached to his hip...

Lot's of Badminton...

Lot's of Lou time...

Lounging around...

And lots of laughing...

My family always has so much fun together, camping reminded me of Shasta!

Anyhoo, since it is summertime and I am just working full-time....I have, what seems to be, SO MUCH extra time. Which is wonderful! Tonight I was hanging out at home after work and decided I would try to make Lou do a trick that he is basically famous for. It is pretty amazing. Check it out below....It will make you laugh...
Promise!

Now the countdown begins for when we leave for MAUI...17 days!!

OOPS!

Today I got a call from Ken while he was at work. I was leaving to take my final (which I think I did good on!) and he told me he had forgotten his iPhone at his house. Now for anyone who knows Ken, they know that he LOVES his iPhone. He is always on it and since he is a mechanic, he runs his business through his phone and basically cannot live without it. So...long story short...On my way home from my final, I thought it would be nice to surprise him at work and bring him his phone. So I get to his room and grab his phone and decided I wanted to use the restroom before I drove to his work. I set his phone on the counter and ....*SLIP*.... phone fell right into the toilet! Within one second, before I even had time to yell I GRABBED the phone out and started frantically trying to dry it off (like that is going to help??)...

So as of now...the phone is not working but...good news! Natalie has an iPhone and when she was at work one night, she dropped in into the sink. She found out that if you put the phone in a bag of white rice, it dries it out. Hers worked 3 days later, and she uses it to this day! So we will wait three days to see if Ken's beloved iPhone will ever work again :( Luckily we are leaving for camping tomorrow afternoon and he won't have service, I guess you could call that good timing...maybe.

Ken's phone in white rice...(fingers crossed!!)

Well tomorrow afternoon, we are off the Salt Springs for five fun days of camping! As we were getting everything packed, the dogs started to get really worried we were going to leave them. They wanted to make sure we wouldn't forget to bring them....

Jake and Lou in the food container....

They also helped us make sure that the air mattresses stayed inflated....

Lou decided this will be his blanket at night....

Don't feel too bad for the dogs, they will be coming with us! Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend! Bye Bye for now!

Getting excited for summer...

Well my last final is this coming Tuesday, then I'M DONE! (for 2 months). But never the less I am very excited to have a break! Here is what I have planned for my summer.

Camping:
The day after I am done with my Microbiology final, my family, Shawn, Ken, Lou & Jake are heading to Salt Springs! We all go up every year around this time and camp for 5 days. We have so much fun! We play games, read, hike around, fish, BBQ, eat delicious food, shoot, play horseshoes and badminton, relax and spend time just all being together and telling stories. It is going to be such a great trip. I will post pictures when we get home.

Maui:

My boyfriend Ken's family has been going to Maui every summer since he was young. I went with them 2 years ago, and I got invited to go this summer for 2 WHOLE WEEKS! They go to Maui to windsurf, and let me tell you windsurfing is NOT an easy sport to learn. Last time I was in Maui I spent 2 weeks basically drowning trying to get the hang of it. By the end of the second week I was able to windsurf 5-7 feet(WOO!). Ken, on the other hand, is great at windsurfing! He soars across the water, and comes back to the condo telling me he was out so far he was surfing over sea turtles!

Between windsurfing and tanning, we go on beautiful hikes to waterfalls, cliff jumping, and enjoy eating dinner beach side every night watching the sunset. His family is so great, so they make the trip that much more fun.

Hopefully when I am home from Maui, I will have pictures of me windsurfing(fingers crossed)!!

Those are my two big trips I have planned. But when I am home I will be spending time with my family, friends, and Ken. Possibly some summer projects with Ken on my car... who knows!

Let summer begin!
