Viva Las Vegas.

For Christmas I got Ken a trip to Las Vegas to see the Garth Brooks concert. We were so excited when the weekend of the trip finally arrived.

After we landed we headed to the hotel

We walked around that afternoon, explored and got lunch. Then the sun went down and we started getting ready for our night out on the town!

We snapped a few pictures before we headed to dinner at Prime Steakhouse in the Bellagio.

We had a choice to sit inside or outside on the patio. We went with outside because they told us there were heater lamps. We are so glad we sat on the patio because we got great seat to the water show. The show goes off every 15 mins, so we got to see it about 6 or 7 times. It was so beautiful. I think it was our first time dining and getting misted by fountains at the same time!

After dinner we headed to Surrender. It was a really fun indoor/outdoor night club. That night Lil' Jon was the DJ. We somehow managed to be front row for that & got a chance to meet him. In his group was Flava Flav and Ken and I could not stop cracking up about his necklace....
Flava Flav on right --->

The next morning we were up early to explore the town more. We had never been to 'old town' Vegas, so we got a cab and took the 20 minute ride. I am so glad we did...

When we first got to the 'old town' Vegas we just walked around and looked at everything. We decided to stop into a casino called Binion's. When Ken and I play slot machines, we usually only play 25cents per pull. But as we were walking by a dollar Wheel of Fortune machine I said jokingly: "Hey, let's just try it! I heard they pay more...". To our surprise, Ken put a few dollars in and DING DING DING, he got a spin and won $1,000!!

I swear you would have thought we were little kids on Christmas morning when the spin landed on $1,000. But at first we both just looked at each other in 15 seconds of silence...then of course came the happy dances and high-fives! Score! Right after he won that, we headed out of there with our winnings.

We ventured to the City Center and hung out there for a few hours.

We saw the world's largest Chocolate Fountain
(this was only the bottom half)

Got some Gelato.
(it was the week after Chinese New year, so we got to enjoy those decorations everywhere we went..see pic below....)

Then we headed back to the Mirage for the rest of the afternoon.

Hung out at Rhumbar for an hour or two

Then that evening it was time...for Garth Brooks! YEEHAW! Of course I took many pics before the show.

:)

No cameras were allowed during the show. But I snuck this photo before he came out. (shh, don't tell!)

Garth was great live. It was our first time seeing him and his vocals were amazing. He talked and told a lot of stories, so we got to know a lot about him. As a surprise he brought out his wife, Trisha Yearwood. She sang a few songs, then they did a duet together. It was one of the greatest shows we have seen.

This trip was, no joke, one of the best times I have had with Ken. We got to spend so much time together & I know how lucky I am to have such a great best friend.

Let the good times roll!...
